In the next two months, we invite you to our activities under the motto “Think beyond borders”. Even when at home and not able to travel, we want to keep our network active and connected and reflect on the current situation as well as the challenges national, ethnic and linguistic minorities face.
Here we present you the overview of the activities. You can participate in all of them, but you can also just choose one. It is up to you, depending on your time and interests.
Webinars: these 1h sessions will provide you with the input on a particular subject. You will have a chance to listen to some experts and ask them questions. It is a short format, planned for one evening and will happen every two weeks.
Our first Webinar was dedicated to the topic nationalism and populism and their impact on minorities, (not only) in a crisis situation such as the current one. Our special guest was Prof. Dr. Vello Pettai, the new director of the European Centre for Minority Issues (ECMI) in Flensburg, Germany.
Next Webinar: 9th Juni 2020, 7pm (CEST)
The second webinar will tackle the question of the situation of young people from Roma minority. We are delighted to have Maria Atanasova as a guest. Maria was recognised as Young European of the Year 2020 for her outstanding commitment to supporting Roma youth and creating equal opportunities.
More information follows soon.
Discussion groups: these discussion rounds should bring three to five people from our network together with the aim of exchanging their experiences, opinions. This is basically a regular coffee break & cultural evening from our seminars, just digitally. It is informal and it is about learning about other minorities! We plan to have dicsussion groups every two weeks.
First discussion groups: 4 June 2020, 7pm (CEST).

It will be Friday evening, Saturday and half a Sunday. More info coming soon.
