New Secretary General

  With the beginning of the new year Eva Schubert took over the management of YEN from Kasia Siemasz. Eva has been working with YEN since February 2019 as Project Manager and has experiences in a variety of international settings and youth work. “YEN, as an international youth organization, is currently facing challenging times.

Minority SafePack – One million signatures for diversity

The European Citizens’ Initiative “Minority SafePack” aims to promote the rights of national and linguistic minorities, ensure their protection at EU level and calls on the EU to use the tools at its disposal in this regard.

Our new president Andor introduces himself

Andor Barabás is 25 years old and comes from a Hungarian family. However, he grew up among the Transylvanian Saxons (German minority) in Zeiden/Feketehalom/Codlea in Romania. Andor has also attended Saxon schools: the German primary school in Codlea and later the famous German-speaking Johannes Honterus Lyceum in Kronstadt/Brassó/Brasov.

Vacancy for the Position of Secretary General

YEN is now looking for its new Secretary General. The selected person will manage the organisation on a daily basis, lead the office and work closely with the board. The position is vacant from 1 January 2021 and located in Berlin, Charlottenburg.

Meet our newest Member Organisation: DM+

During the last General Assembly of YEN on 10th of October, we have welcomed a new addition to our network – the organisation of Slovenes in Italy, DM+. We asked them to present themselves, so that you can get to know them better. DM+ WELCOME IN YEN! DM+ is a newly born organisation.

Call for webinar stars!

We are looking for young people from our Member Organisations to take part in a webinar as guests and talk about their minority, mainly in regards to discrimination experiences and intersectionality.

YEN goes 2021

After the unusual year 2020 we are looking forward to opening a next chapter with exiting activities. And we want YOU to join! There will be familiar activities but also some new formats to explore.

We have a new board! After the General Assembly 2020!

On 10 October 2020 YEN held its first ever Online General Assembly! More than 50 participants, representing 26 member organizations, partners and guests gathered to decide on the plans of the YEN network in the next years and elected new Board Members, Working Group Members and an Auditor.
