From the 29th September to the 1st of October 2014 three YEN Board members, Matic Germovšek Ž.(President), Angel Nikolov (Chair of the YLC) and Rejzka Lipičec (Convenor for Communication), represented YEN at the 25th European Minority Congress in Celovec/ Klagenfurt and Vrba/Velden in Carinthia, Austria.
From the 5th- 7th of September 2014 we held our Board Meeting in Koljnof/ Kópháza (Hungary). Following the invitation of Hak – Hrvatski akademski klub (Kroatischer Akademikerklub) we combined it with the annual festival Dan Mladine, the Burgenland- Croatian youth organizes.
This summer we had the pleasure to organize an event, which consisted of 2 parts. Some of you may know the popular “Voices of Europe” from the past already. This year it was linked to the “30 years of Roma Rights”. On tour with us to Macedonia was also our Minority Flag.
On the 9th, 12th and 13th of July 2014, YEN- President Matic Germovšek and Vice President Stere Stamule went on a study visit to our Aromanian/ Vlach member organization “Lunjina” in Belgrade/SR.
Throughout this year’s Easter Seminar YEN and its member organizations have all reason to celebrate. The 30-year anniversary since its founding has been celebrated during the Easter Seminar, YENs most important annual event, in Opole (PL).
To this year’s first Youth Leader Committee under the motto “30 years – Kick Off” YEN was invited by our Slovenian Member Organization MOSP from Italy. The event took place from the 26.02.- 02.03.2014 in Bazovica/ Bassovizza close to Trst/ Trieste.
The Youth Leader Seminar 2013 “Ohne Grenzen- Határok Nélkül- Without Borders”, took place from the 9th – 13th of October in Orfü, Hungary. This year’s YLS was organized in collaboration with the Gemeinschaft Junger Ungarndeutscher.
On 1st of August, Roman Kühn started working as new Secretary General in the Office of YEN. Here he introduces himself: I was born in the cold winter of 1978 in the Eastern part of Berlin. Already during my studies of Politics and English, I have been active in the field of volunteering.
The youth organisation of the Slovakian minority in Hungary, OSMM applied for membership at the Youth of European Nationalities in September 2012. They sent all the necessary documents on time, (3 months before the General Assembly) and the visit took place on 17 March 2013.
To this year’s Easter Seminar of YEN, the Western Frisian youth organisation FYK (Frysk Ynternasjonaal Kontakt) welcomed participants from the the 23rd to the 29th of March to the small idyllic town of Grou in the dutch province of Fryslân.
