The Youth Leader Seminar 2013 “Ohne Grenzen- Határok Nélkül- Without Borders”, took place from the 9th – 13th of October in Orfü, Hungary. This year’s YLS was organized in collaboration with the Gemeinschaft Junger Ungarndeutscher.
On 1st of August, Roman Kühn started working as new Secretary General in the Office of YEN. Here he introduces himself: I was born in the cold winter of 1978 in the Eastern part of Berlin. Already during my studies of Politics and English, I have been active in the field of volunteering.
The youth organisation of the Slovakian minority in Hungary, OSMM applied for membership at the Youth of European Nationalities in September 2012. They sent all the necessary documents on time, (3 months before the General Assembly) and the visit took place on 17 March 2013.
To this year’s Easter Seminar of YEN, the Western Frisian youth organisation FYK (Frysk Ynternasjonaal Kontakt) welcomed participants from the the 23rd to the 29th of March to the small idyllic town of Grou in the dutch province of Fryslân.
Once Germany now Denmark: Nordschleswig, home of the German minority in Denmark. Their youth organisation, the Junge SPitzen were hosting the Youth Leader Committee (YLC) “Be minority – Think big!” from 12th-16th February 2013. The YLC exists of the 3 Working Groups and the Board of YEN. The Deutsche Nachschule offered a good accommodation.
Also in this year the annual Youth Leader Seminar of YEN took place. Host this time was the youth organization of the Kashubians – the Klub Studencki Pomorania – who had invited from the 9. – 14. October to the port and former Hanseatic city of Gdańsk.
This year Voices of Europe – the yearly summer project of YEN – took place from 5. till 12. August in Željezno/Eisenstadt. It closed with a great concert in Veliki Borištof/Großwarasdorf (Burgenland, Austria). The host of this year was the member organization HAK – the Hrvatski akademski klub.
From the 2.- 5. August 2012 the YEN-Board had a meeting in Vienna. During the meeting the board worked on the upcoming and last events. Here, among other things, the Youth Leader Seminar from 9. – 14. October in Gdańsk/Poland, the completed project “office Berlin” and not to forget the EUROPEADA 2012 in Bautzen.
From the 24 – 26 th of February 2012 the YEN board and office had a meeting in Vienna. During the meeting we discussed the last preparation steps of the Easter Seminar in South Tyrol/Italy, worked out the agenda of the general assembly in five weeks and prepared the documents for this event.
Sebastian Seehauser, president of Youth of European Nationalities (YEN), represented the European minorities at the EU China youth panel. From the 8th to the 16th of august a delegation of 100 European juveniles from all the EU member countries met at the EU China youth panel in Shenzhen, China.
