Halva – Aromanian recipe from Serbia (Lunjina)
Fry 1 cup of oil and 2 cups of flour with constant mixing until the flour becomes caramel coloured (be careful that it doesn’t burn). At the same time cook 2 cups of sugar with 4 cups of water. When it boils and becomes like a syrup, add some chopped walnuts, lemon juice and little bit of cinnamon.
Pour hot syrup to the fried flour carefully and quickly mix until there no lumps anymore. Now you should have a compact mass. Pour the hot halva into a form or make small balls with a spoon and put them on a plate. Cool them before you eat!
