In less then one century the number of people, which consider themselves as Carinthian Slovenes, decreased multiple times. Since decades regional and national politicians argue about the rights and situation of the Slovene minority.

"WE DO NOT FEAR" - the Carinthian Slovene Youth Organizations invite you to the transnational youth seminar Bleiburg/Pliberk.

Dear members of the working groups!

We are glad to invite you officially to the seminar "WE DO NOT FEAR - Minorities against social exclusion". Be our guest in Carinthia, in a region that has been inhabited by two nationalities for centuries, in which the legacy of both world wars and territorial claims of a former communist neighbor on on hand and principles of antifascism and fears of assimilation on the other hand still heat up the heads. But we at the same time also invite you to a modern Carinthia, which finally begins to understand the advantages through its location in the Alps-Adria-region between Austria, Slovenia and Italy, in which children learn all regional languages from the beginning on and interregional partnerships and intercultural exchange are common.Carinthia, a region of contrasts, which at somehow also connect, with problems and severities - and again not far from big possibilities and advantages.

We - the Carinthian Slovene Youth Organizations KSŠŠD - Klub slovenskih študentk in študentov na Dunaju, KDZ - Koroška dijaška zveza und Mlada EL - Mlada Enotna Lista, invite you from the 12th to the 18th of September 2010 to Bleiburg/Pliberk to the Valley Jauntal/Podjuna. During this week you will be accommodated in the new energy-hotel Campus Futura, in which you will find best working conditions - and also a lot of recreative surprises. You can expect a rich program, through which you will experience the history of our region, you will have a lot of chances to get in touch with the current - political - relations of minority and majority in Carinthia and at the same time - also on excursions - get to know regional specialities and delicacies.

Please note the deadline for registration - the 8th of August 2010. Every member organization of YEN can register 3 regular participants and put up to 2 participants on the waiting list. Please also take care of health insurances and bring your own towels. Of course there will also an exchange market take place, so please also bring some delicacies, which are specific for your minority.
